The ones in islands or at water level are not dangerous at all. If all goes wrong you can just skid into the water. Better than crashing into buildings or big rocks or trees.

CSalt is right. This page would be better titled "10 unusually located runways…". Statistically speaking, Teguciagalpa airport (in Hunduras) is one of the most dangerous airports in the world (it is the bottom of a step valley) and its not listed here, for instance.

One other thing, you would not rather go into the water , then a field or even a building, when planes go down in the water your chances are cut by two thirds of making it out alive.

I've never seen every single comment on a page be moronic before. They are all sort runways. While there maybe be just enough room to land and stop, there is no margin for error. Land to long down and you are boned , come in a little to fast from a tail wind, and you're gonna have problem. They don't have to be ringed with crashed planes to be risky. Also a few of them have a mountain sitting at one end or the other, try making a go around and having to pull up over heavy woods or hills at just above stall speed. And you will see what makes some runways more of a challenge.

I'd love to land on any of those. It would mean I'm somewhere nicer than where I currently reside.

Why are they any more dangerous than any other airport?

As the recent accident in Spain showed, if you're not on the runway even fields aren't much help.

Ummm..
Any runway that is long enough for the plane to land on and brake is a safe runway...
these might better be listed as...
10 unusually located runways...
