Why can’t people just tie shoes the normal way? It’s stupid for people to try to make their shoe laces look like a ladder or something. Who freaking cares about shoe laces?!
Nifty … next time I get a new pair of tennies, I think I’ll invest a few minutes in one of these distinctive lacings.

I used the Checkerboard method (m)
@bdunlap
The ladder, for example, stays tight longer than the standard lacing technique. Others have other advantages.
My Shoes are currently in the Loopback pattern (D).
May try the other ones later though!!!
This is quite intriguing. I never thought something as menial as tying shoe-laces would involve something as intricate. Very very peculiar and interesting!
Back in the day,when I played “Roller Hockey” we had to use a LADDER style lacing technique.It was to make cutting a boot off a broken foot a bit easier…
(slide the knife under the laces , turn and lift..Presto one unlaced boot.
In Soviet Russia, shoe ties you!
Aint so original after a couple thousand people copy you cause they saw it on this web site.
Glad to see people supporting individuality. And it’s nice to finally know how to do some of these. Great post.
i did the lattice on both of my shoes, it looks bad ass. thanks!
The Footbag works great if you have larger feet that don’t fit comfortably in Converse(chucks). There is so much more room for the toes but tight around the ankle using the Footbag style.
@bdunlap
these techniques are not just for looks, they also help release pressure from different areas on your feet (like the toes, arch or heal) making your shoes more comfortable to wear.

Why can’t people just do EVERYTHING the normal way? It’s stupid for people to try to be creative or make art or something. Who freaking cares about creativity?!
I think this is rad. Good post, mate.
WOW! Now I know how to tie my shoelaces the cool way.
This is awesome!! I found this through stumbleupon.
so awesome!!
All these are examples of how to lace shoes, not how to tie them.
This was really awesome =) I’ve wondered how to do some of these for a long time xD
@Dev
Creativity and finding new ways to do things is what makes life interesting. Who wants to be normal?
i would really love to play card games, it is also a very addictive game .”:
cool…
@bdunlap go fuck yourself…
I don’t really care about shoelaces but there’s nothing wrong about it too… It’s just an option… so fuck you
@Bdunlap why would you care either way? If people are taking something boring and mundane and making it fun, where is the issue? You must be a miserable person if you have a problem with people having fun.
