I couldn’t understand some parts of this article nnial 2007 - salvatore iaconesi - del.icio.us poetry, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
What a load of rubbish, the key would bend
Wouldn’t work if your lock is tight. Needs stiffer material. CAA used to supply a plastic credit card spare car key that was effective since car locks are easily opened with the right key. If there were a cheap way to produce a hard plastic key, this would work better, but not in all cases.

What? I can’t imagine this working in most locks.
I don’t think aluminum would work, but it may, I’ll have to try it, but tin cans definitely will work I bet, I’ll have to try it with one of them.

it could correctly set the pins in the tumbler but you’d probably need something else to torque the lock.
For all of those complaining about this (pardon my caps) but: YOU NEED A TENSION WRENCH! (or a makeshift one at least). From the way I see it, this key is only meant to simply lift the pins of a pin-and-tumbler lock whilst the user uses another device such as a makeshift tension wrench to turn the cylinder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0HFBlrqWjg
Going to a locksmith to make a copy costs about 2.50$….
and you get a real key!
